What Are The Requirements To Get Google Adsense Approved

Google AdSense approval is a big problem in a blogger’s life, especially if you’re a beginner. The Adsense policies are getting stricter daily, but you know what? The regulations are for the betterment, and you still can get approval easily.

If you’re thinking about HOW? Don’t worry because it’s all about fulfilling a few requirements before you apply for Adsense. The requirements include general rules of age, domain, ownership, important pages, quality content, and so forth.

In this guide, I’ll explain the requirements so you can get Google Adsense approval in 2023.

10 Things to Know Before Applying for Adsense Account

Here are the ten basic pre-Adsense checklists to meet before applying for an Adsense account. Ensure you follow all points because even one small point can become the reason for a “rejection” email.

1- Your Age

The first requirement of Google Adsense is related to age. Google Adsense is a partnership program, and to become a publishing partner with Google Adsense, you must be an adult, meaning your age should be at least 18 years old.

2- Ownership of Site

Another requirement of Google Adsense is you must own the site. Applying for someone else’s website is completely against Google Adsense rules. Google will verify your ownership by demanding you add Adsense code to the website theme file.

3- Top-Level Domain

Your site must have a good domain because, according to my experience, Google only prefers websites with top-quality domains, including .com, .net, .org, and .us extensions. Websites with subdomains and free domains mostly get rejected by Adsense.

4- Necessary Website Pages

Google wants searchers to trust the websites so they can click on Adsense ads and come back again and again. This is why having the necessary pages is important: to show the audience you’re someone who’s an expert in this niche and can truly help.

Here are the pages I suggest for all websites. They are all important, and leaving one of them can create a big issue.

  • About us
  • Contact us
  • Our team
  • Privacy policy page
  • Disclaimer
  • Terms and conditions
  • copyright notice
  • DMCA

5- Website Age

There’s no clarification about the website age on the Adsense official website. However, from my experience, websites with a minimum age of 1 month or a few days usually get rejected.

It’s because Google wants to ensure that websites have some valuable content and a good user experience before allowing them to display ads. The best is to wait for at least 2-3 months before you go for the Adsense application process.

6- Minimum 20 Articles

Besides the age, another crucial point is the minimum number of articles to get approved. You can’t just post two to three articles and apply after 3 months. It doesn’t serve the purpose of valuable content and a good user experience.

I suggest posting at least 2 to 3 articles a week, which will be around 8 to 12 a month. Follow the same routine, and apply after 3 months; your blog should have at least 20 articles (the more, the better).

7- Organic Traffic

If one thing Google Adsense hates most is the invalid clicks. Some bloggers, mostly newbies, buy fake traffic to earn more. Little did they know that the Adsense algorithm can easily track fake traffic, which leads to a ban or rejection email from Adsense.

Therefore, always make sure your website has organic traffic. Yes, it’s difficult to get the audience in the beginning, but with patience and hard work, you can do it.

8- High-Quality Content

The next important requirement of Google Adsense is “high-quality content.” your traffic, ranking, and approval depend on it. Google values websites that offer valuable, well-written, and original content instead of low-quality content.

What you should do is identify low-quality on your website, delete those pages, or update with the latest info. Generate helpful, informative, and unique content that attracts visitors and keeps them coming back for more.

9- Articles Word Count

An unwritten rule of Google Adsense is about the word count of articles. Some experts say word count doesn’t matter; believe me, it does. Yes, you shouldn’t worry too much about it, but ensure your website doesn’t have thin pages as well.

Thin pages simply means web pages with less than 300 words. If you have articles or blog posts of up to 300 words, update them before applying. Add more relevant info so the word count can go up to at least 500 to 700 words.

10- Submission to GSC & GA

Don’t forget to submit your site to Google Search Console and Google Analytics. Both platforms are essential for blogging.

In Google Search Console, you can submit the sitemap of your website, which informs Google about how many pages you have on your website. After discovering the page, Google decides which pages meet the requirement of quality content and ranks accordingly.

How to Apply for Google Adsense Program in 2023

After meeting all the requirements I’ve shared above, apply for a Google Adsense account. Here’s the simple step-by-step process to set up your Adsense account.

  • Go to Adsense’s official website, sign up for Adsense account using your Gmail address and add your site.
  • Complete the application form with accurate and honest information, including your website URL and place the code on your website.
  • Google will review your application and website to ensure they comply with AdSense policies. If everything is up to the mark, Google Adsense will most take two weeks for approval.
  • Once your AdSense account is permanently approved, you can start displaying ads on your website.

What are the Common Reasons Why AdSense Rejected Your Website?

There are many reasons why Adsense rejects websites. Below, I’ll pinpoint the most important and common misleading practices that Google hates. Let’s get into the details!

  • Low-quality content: If you get a “low-value content error” in the rejection email it means the issue is with your content. The simple solution is to generate high-quality content that helps and provides value.
  • Unacceptable content: Don’t put anything on your site that AdSense doesn’t allow or finds inappropriate, like adult or gambling-related content.
  • Poor site navigation: Your website should be easy for people to use with good navigation. If it’s confusing or disorganized, that’s a problem.
  • Bad hosting service: Using a bad hosting service for your website can cause problems with AdSense. So always use Google hosting service that offers 99% uptime to increase the chances of getting approved.
  • Harmful links: Avoid having any links that lead to harmful sites if you want to get approved by Google Adsense. Links leading to adult, gambling sites are against Google Adsense rules.

Final Words

All eligibility requirements I’ve discussed above to get Google Adsense account approval are equally important. You can’t pick and choose the Adsense program policies according to your feasibility, as it can easily lead to rejection.

Also, remember that your content is the key to success. You may get approval or ranking by chance with low-quality content, but the situation won’t remain the same long-term. The moment Google identifies that you’re meeting the eligibility requirements for AdSense, the de-ranking or even the de-indexing process will begin.
